1 pound lean ground beef/deer/moose
5 large apples – peeled, sliced and ground (do not grind the apples)
1 1/2 cups maple sugar (syrup will work)
1/2 cup orange juice concentrate
1/3 cup molasses
1 cup butter
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 1/4 cup raisins
3/4 cup currents
2 tbsp. lemon juice (fresh)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
1/2 tsp. salt
Cook meat before grinding. Do not use hamburger.
Brown meat in dutch oven-strain out oil/fat when cooked.
Melt butter and add all ingredients stirring constantly until well mixed.
Simmer 2-3 hours-stirring occasionally.
